Local search marketing19%

Now here’s a real curiosity.  According to the data contained in the lovely infographic below provided by MGD Advertising, local search is a bit of a mixed bag for a big percentage of consumers.  In fact, only 59% of those surveyed said that they use Google at least once a month to look for a local business and 24% said that they’ve never used the search giant in this fashion.  When you read on it becomes clear why some users – although 24% seems extremely high to me given my personal experiences – aren’t embracing local search marketing.  It seems that there is a long way to go before small businesses consistently capitalize on the opportunities local search provides them from a marketing perspective because if 19% still aren’t including a phone number with their listing, a consistent geo-location based coupon experience is an aspiration that’s probably down the road a bit.
